I think by now everyone is familiar with Hulu, the JV between Fox and NBC to stream TV online. I received an email a little while back informing me that I was part of the “Hulu Century Club”, meaning I was one of the first 100 registered users of the site, and I was getting a limited edition T-shirt! It just came in the mail, and I was pleasantly surprised by the stylish shirt- I plan on wearing it around more than just the house:

I think Betty liked it, too.

Hey guys-
I setup Google Analytics on EOJ awhile ago, and I thought you might all be interested in some of the numbers. Google collects some basic information on every person that visits EOJ, including location and time spent on the site.
Since Google Analytics was setup on the site in November 2007, we’ve had:
- A total of 1,841 unique visitors
- The site has been visited 4,421 times
- At least two visits from every state (lowest being Missouri, highest being New York)
- we’ve had visits from 54 different countries, including South Africa, Australia, Romania, and Saudi Arabia
- 66% of visitors use FireFox,18% Internet Exploror, 12% use Safari, and 1% use Chrome
- Average time on the site is only 1:54
There’s more information in the attached in the PDF.

automatedbeacon.net
“The beacon continuously relays selected live web searches as they are being made around the world, presenting them back in series and at regular intervals.
The beacon has been instigated to act as a silent witness: a feedback loop providing a global snapshot of ourselves to ourselves in real time.”
It’s a webcrawer that runs over (with?) Google. And while the visual aspect of the page is lacking, reading what people search for will more than make it up. It becomes a little addictive even.

This morning I was biking to work (my new favorite thing), and just a couple blocks from my house I wound up behind an SUV with a large mast-like structure sticking out the top. The back of the vehicle said “Microsoft Live Local Search”… the mast had cameras on top of it pointing in all directions- This was Microsoft’s version of the Google StreetView cars that drive through the streets of cities taking pictures.
It turned onto a side street, and I followed it for a block, riding in the middle of the road and looking into the camera as much as I could… with a little bit of luck, I’ll make it to thier map site in the near future. I’ll let you know if I do.

It seems we’re all super busy and not really posting. Yet I still check EOJ! So I just wanted to make a “non-post” post to say: YAY!
