I love EOJ

It seems we’re all super busy and not really posting.  Yet I still check EOJ! So I just wanted to make a “non-post” post to say: YAY!

Bacon Party!

May 5th, 2008 by Shantastic

Yes it’s true!  We went to a bacon party on Saturday.  It was pretty awesome.  Of course everything had to have bacon but the event also featured a cheap beer tasting and challenge.  I did a taste challenge between Hamm’s, PBR, and Olympia.  I got the PBR right!  Please be warned with the photos, that much bacon isn’t a pretty sight.webhpim3210.jpgOur friend taking the beer taste challenge.

webhpim3222.jpgAmazing shrimp wrapped in bacon with a sweet/sour/spicy miso sauce, dates stuffed with an almond and wrapped in bacon, Asparagas wrapped in bacon, one lone left bacon egg roll, and there are none left of the fantastic jalapano bacon poppers.

webhpim3218.jpg Sweet yellow cupcakes with bacon bits inside and a butter cream frosting. These were actually really good, that perfect combo of salty/sweet.

webhpim3220.jpgMy man bbq’n up some oysters with a bacon cilantro butter sauce.

webhpim3217.jpgA savory bacon cake!  Two cornbread rounds with mix veggies frosted with mashed potatos, topped with a bacon lattace.

webhpim3216.jpgBacon deviled eggs, a bacon dip, Applesauce oatmeal cookies with bacon, twice baked potato skins with bacon and some things already mentioned. Hamm’s

webhpim3225.jpgThere were these Bacon band-aids I put one on my hat.  I also tried a bacon-mint. Weird.

Yay bacon!

Eli sent me this picture a few years ago and every time I come across it I laugh.

Historic Pictures: Hiland Hall

March 15th, 2008 by lucas

I’ve decided to start a new feature here at The Elbow of Justice entitled “Historic Pictures”. If you have a picture(s) of one or more of the EOJ contributers or some other pertinent picture that you would like to share, feel free to post it. I think this might turn out to be fun. Given that I talked to Eli this morning I thought that I’d post this picture(I believe from the Soap Opera ERA).

I know we’re all wryly aloof from Bennington these days, but…

February 26th, 2008 by Jen

I’m still making/writing/designing stuff for their website, and I just finished this big thing I’m kinda proud of and wanted to share.

Remember when we were all admitted and we got a t-shirt and a letter? These days, in addition to a package, admitted students also get access to a special website where we reveal glimpses of Bennington in hopes that they will drool and fall in love. (And why not?)

Check it out…click on the various squares…I wrote and designed most of this stuff so if you think it’s cheesy you can blame me. ;-) Anyhow, all the squares are “open” now, but when we launch it in a few days, they’ll be covered up by question marks, with a new one “revealed” every week, like an Advent calendar.

This is it…”Welcome Class of 2012″…

Learn. Live.

EDITED TO ADD (after Eli & Monica’s comments): Don’t feel like you have to read ALL the squares–seriously–it’s like a freaking encyclopedia–I just wanted to share a little :-)
