I just wanted to say “HEY Y’ALL” and of course Congrats Jen and Rob for they’re beautiful boy! Yippie. I still check in on EOJ and look forward to more friendly posts from friends. Here is a picture of my Garden at one year. She’s looking pretty good. We now have daffodils, tulips and other flowers going. I love an early spring.
Cheers!

From an IM with Leighanne just now:

[16:36] hiland: we’ve been hitched for almost a year, dude
[16:45] leighanne: bananas

Sunday marks one year for the two of us!  We’re taking a long week-end and going to Providence, RI.

Governmentality’s Question of the Day

August 3rd, 2009 by Hiland

My friend, Allen McDuffee, is an investigative journalist and blogger. He’s starting a new section on his blog where he’ll be posting a question daily, and looking for responses to that question. It’s an interesting idea, and I’m planning on adding my voice to the mix frequently. You should, too.

Garden Justice

June 30th, 2009 by Shantastic

On Sunday my Carter House Inns Garden was on the Humboldt Botanical Garden Tour.  I was told to expect about 800 people through the garden.  While I do not know actual numbers it was a lot of people.  Overall it went spectacularly well, if you don’t include the back breaking amount of labor that went into getting that garden ready.  I was thrilled by the crazy number of compliments I received and by the look of true delight on people faces as they stepped through the garden’s gate.

I Knew Before You

March 30th, 2009 by Hiland

I think by now everyone is familiar with Hulu, the JV between Fox and NBC to stream TV online. I received an email a little while back informing me that I was part of the “Hulu Century Club”, meaning I was one of the first 100 registered users of the site, and I was getting a limited edition T-shirt! It just came in the mail, and I was pleasantly surprised by the stylish shirt- I plan on wearing it around more than just the house:

I think Betty liked it, too.
