The world is ending!!

August 28th, 2007 by monica

No, not really.  But, last night there was a full lunar eclipse! I was lucky, because I busted my butt working at Shannon’s job with her yesterday (so fun!), so I fell asleep around 8pm.  When I woke up at 2, something was wrong with the moon!  I managed to stay awake to see the whole thing get wiped out, and then I got cold and went back to bed.  I tried to take a picture to show you guys, but predictably, it was crap.  Sorry.

What I did on my summer vacation

Yes, I had a summer vacation.  It was awesome.  I read a bunch, hung out with my folks,  came home with new clothes, and saw both of my grandmothers!   I gardened my mothers herb patch,webhpim1785.jpgwebhpim1790.jpgfixed some problems with the deck with my dadwebhpim1804.jpgand saw my friend Kate at the end.  webhpim1817.jpgwebhpim1821.jpg

Kate arranged for our High School buddies to come over and we spent a delightful evening on her porch drinking the night before I flew home.  I got to try all kinds of good MI beer.  yum.   All in all a very fine vacation with the fam.

Well, after a couple weeks of being out and about, i’m finally back in business… kind of.  I started working at netratings on Thursday, only to be given Friday off.  The above photo was taken by Leighanne during the reception for my cousin’s wedding on Tuesday.

Also- I went biking yesterday, and ran over a rat, killing it.

Waaah!

Yesterday at 6:30 pm I was supposed to fly down to LA and visit with our esteemed buddy, Mary. Then on to MI to hang with my parents for a week.  But the amazing fog (shitty fog?) was so thick, and we were so sacked in, the plane couldn’t land.  Of course this happens all the time.

Fortunately Alaska Airlines has re-booked me for today.  I will be leaving at 3 pm, which is the only time of day that could have sun.  We’re at 100% humidity today, and I can’t see past my neighbor’s house.
