I know we’re all wryly aloof from Bennington these days, but…

February 26th, 2008 by Jen

I’m still making/writing/designing stuff for their website, and I just finished this big thing I’m kinda proud of and wanted to share.

Remember when we were all admitted and we got a t-shirt and a letter? These days, in addition to a package, admitted students also get access to a special website where we reveal glimpses of Bennington in hopes that they will drool and fall in love. (And why not?)

Check it out…click on the various squares…I wrote and designed most of this stuff so if you think it’s cheesy you can blame me. ;-) Anyhow, all the squares are “open” now, but when we launch it in a few days, they’ll be covered up by question marks, with a new one “revealed” every week, like an Advent calendar.

This is it…”Welcome Class of 2012″…

Learn. Live.

EDITED TO ADD (after Eli & Monica’s comments): Don’t feel like you have to read ALL the squares–seriously–it’s like a freaking encyclopedia–I just wanted to share a little :-)

Wedding Update

February 22nd, 2008 by Shantastic

Yikes!  I had heard weddings were a lot of planning but I just wasn’t ready.

Matt and I now have the following: A place to get married, a place to have a party, food to feed party-ers, plans to make them party harder with booze, a photographer, a cupcake cake, outfits for us and most of the bridal party, invitations, a honeymoon destination, decorations/flowers, napkins with our names on them, matchbooks with our names on them, Music (3 kinds!), two registries, an awesome website and we still want to get married.

It’s nice to be close enough for things to start pulling together.  There should be a cheering section for people who organize this shit themselves!  I will be the cheering section for y’all that are doing this also.  I keep thanking Matt for being so great while I change my mind eight times and get mad that we even have to make a registry.

The best part is that we’re going to be spending about a quarter of the $$ people (who are these people?) “normally” spend on this ceremony/party.  So I keep putting it out there…advice? Anyone?

There is still so much more to do…but check out our website it’s got lots more on it now!

dollarsx 600 =Arkel

So we should all be getting $600 tax rebate checks by May. The point of these things is to help stimulate the economy- in other words: get people buying shit. There are problems with this scheme, such as most people either put the money in savings or use it to pay down debt. Similar attempts have been met with mixed results in the past… However, I say take your rediculous money and buy something ridiculous with it. I, for one, plan to pick up a pair of Arkel Touring Panniers.
