Happy Lasagna Cookoff 2009!!

Today marks our 6th annual Lasagna Cookoff. She’s gonna be a doozy!
The cook-off was originally brainstormed by Monica, Mary and I on a long car trip. We all thought it would be fun to have a cook-off, but of what?
Eventually lasagna came up and the rest is delicious history.
We’re expecting at least a dozen dishes this year. Matt is even making a “Breakfast Lasagna” layered with bacon, eggs, sauteed mushroom & onion and crepe! This year I returned to a classic lasagna featuring garden fresh produce and everything homemade but the ricotta cheese.
Be jealous that you’re far away and then hold your own!

We did hold our own, and we’ll have to do another one soon! As my friend put it- no one loses at a food competition.

Om nom nom. I AM jealous! Your lasagna cookoff of last year inspired an appetizer cookoff at our house, which we are repeating this year for Rob’s birthday party. It’s amazing how stuffed you can get on appetizers.
